Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I have been working at American Career College full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Everything else. Management is horrible. If you don't kiss butt you will get fired. Students pass classes and go to extern and have no clue what to do. They are unprepared. This school will keep a student at all cost. If you don't like to kiss upper managements butt and won't do unethical things then this is not the place for you. RUN"

"I have been working at American Career College full-time for more than 3 years Cons: No movement for corporate employees, no investment with employees, turnover is extremely high, lack of training, Executive Directors seem loss at campuses. Poor pay and over worked. I'm constantly covering for instructors because other instructors leave mid-term. Lots of Student complaints."

Former Employee - Admission Advisor says

"I worked at American Career College full-time for more than 5 years Cons: Run for your life if you're going for a position in Admissions. The Directors pick and choose who will make a successful advisor and who will struggle. The management treats admissions like machines who are not allowed to talk to their co-workers and pretty much either help a student in the office or like they say " smile and dial" or pound the phones. taking time off or calling in sick is taboo. This is one of the worst places I have ever worked. Management have no education and lack professionalism , its all about numbers. Lots of favoritism and office politics. Very toxic environment unless you're on the Boss's good side"

"I worked at American Career College full-time Cons: Too many students get nothing but a large debt. There is a huge push to recruit students, not so much to place them. Admissions still just push them into any program and don't really assess the individual's capabilities. The instructors work their butts off to get the student to the finish line even when it is clear that the student is not hireable (because the numbers must be met, not the actual student needs). The organization spends a LOT of money on buildings and looking great and should invest in the teachers."

"I worked at American Career College for less than a year Cons: unprofessional low-end weak leadership. Still a mom and pop school. In dire need of positive leadership, they only point out all the negatives and have no contingency plan to assist in the growth and development of their talented people or in retaining current talent."

VN Instructor says

"I worked at American Career College for more than 3 years Cons: This place doesn’t function as a school, it functions as a business. It has an excellent marketing department advertising hand on and small classes. In reality the classes are around 60 students, the clinical groups up to 15, the skills lab outdated, and the clinical sites a mess. The administration is a chaos they lose emails and documents constantly, they do not support instructors. Many occasions they don’t even know what’s going on; they request constantly documents from prior months, double book instructors, provide information for a rotation on the last minute and so on. This institution has the same problems over and over and over. Students become disappointed, frustrated, anger and rebellious. The pay is average, no raise, no benefits, no future. Finally, the administration doesn't accept criticism; if they hear something they don’t like they shot you down."

Former Employee - Shared Services says

"I worked at American Career College full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Management practices are unfair. HR changes are not announced. Policies are unclear and vague. Hire family and friends who do not qualify - politically charged. Company avoids paying overtime by putting employees in exempt positions. Lack of professional development. Employees are not recognized for contribution except for the few "chosen ones.""

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at American Career College full-time Cons: Administration uses "downsizing" (firing you!) as a way to fund new programs, cover themselves when they mess up, pump up financial numbers. No one is safe from their ax. If you work there now, watch your back. Be especially careful if you have been promoted ... it makes their numbers look good just before you are fired. No one will help you because they will be fired for speaking up."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at American Career College part-time for less than a year Cons: High turn-over and shady management."

Talent Acquisition Assistant says

"I worked at American Career College Cons: Poor management and lots of employee turn over. I believe the reason the company has POOR retention is due to management and lack of good leadership."
